Please read these terms before you use Boop Pet Care. They apply to everyone who uses Boop, wherever they live. They explain your rights and ours. Nothing in them takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
The short version
- Boop helps you organise your pets' care. It is not veterinary advice. Always ask your vet about your pet's health.
- Boop is free with limits. Premium and Premium+ are subscriptions bought and managed through Apple's App Store, and they renew automatically until you cancel.
- Everything you add stays yours. People you invite to your household can see and edit your household's shared data.
- You can export your data or delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1 These terms are an agreement between you and Mekhak Ghapantsyan ("we", "us", "our").
1.2 They apply to the Boop Pet Care iPhone app, its servers, and any related website and support (together, "Boop" or the "service").
1.3 By creating an account or using Boop, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Boop.
1.4 You download the app from Apple's App Store, so Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies to your use of the app. If it conflicts with these terms on the licence to use the app, Apple's agreement applies. Section 15 sets out further terms that Apple requires.
1.5 Our Privacy Policy at https://boop-petcare.site/privacy explains how we use your personal data.
1.6 You can contact us at mekhakghapantsyan@gmail.com.
2. Boop is not veterinary advice
2.1 Boop is a tool for organising your pets' care: a calendar, reminders, records, a daily log and an expense tracker. It does not give veterinary advice, and it does not diagnose, prevent or treat any condition.
2.2 Reminders, schedules, estimated dates (such as the next expected heat cycle), weight charts, symptom summaries and notes such as "consider contacting your vet" are based only on what you and your household enter. They may be incomplete or wrong, and they are not a substitute for a vet's judgement.
2.3 You remain responsible for your pets' care, including giving the right medicines and doses at the right time. Always follow your vet's instructions and the instructions on medicine labels. If your pet is unwell or you think it is an emergency, contact a vet straight away. Do not delay seeking advice because of anything shown, or not shown, in Boop.
2.4 Reminders depend on your iPhone, its notification settings and network connections, and Apple's push notification service. We cannot guarantee that every reminder will arrive on time.
3. Your account
3.1 You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for using online services without a parent's consent (for example 16 in some EU countries). If you are under the age of majority where you live (18 in most countries), you need permission from a parent or guardian, especially to buy a subscription.
3.2 You can sign up with Sign in with Apple or with an email address and password. Please give accurate details and keep your sign-in details secure. Tell us straight away at mekhakghapantsyan@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3.3 You are responsible for what happens in your account, unless it is caused by our failure to keep the service secure.
3.4 Each account is for one person. Please do not share your sign-in details; invite people to your household instead.
4. Households and sharing
4.1 Every account belongs to a household. The person who creates a household is its owner. People the owner invites with a link or code become members. Inviting members needs a Premium or Premium+ plan.
4.2 Everyone in a household can see and edit the household's pets, events, daily check-ins, documents and expenses, and can see who completed each task. Only invite people you trust with this information, and only add information about other people (such as a pet sitter's name) if you are entitled to.
4.3 The owner can remove members, and any member can leave. When a member leaves or is removed, the household's shared data stays with the household.
4.4 The owner's subscription covers every member of the household while they are members.
5. Plans, subscriptions and payment
5.1 Free plan. Boop is free for 1 pet, up to 3 active events and up to 3 documents, without household sharing.
5.2 Paid plans. Premium (up to 3 pets, unlimited events and documents, and up to 3 household members, plus extra features such as the weight chart, symptom summary, monthly budgets and calendar sync) and Premium+ (everything in Premium, with unlimited pets and household members) are auto-renewable subscriptions sold through Apple's App Store. The features and prices of each plan are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency as set by the App Store. Prices may differ between countries. Apple adds any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live.
5.3 Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details.
5.4 Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
5.5 Cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or from Account › Subscription › Manage in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your paid features until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your Boop account does not cancel your subscription; you must cancel it with Apple.
5.6 Free trials. Where we offer a free trial (for example, 7 days on the yearly Premium plan), it is for eligible new subscribers only. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged at the end of the trial. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
5.7 Refunds and cancellation rights. Because Apple sells the subscription, refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple's policies and the law where you live. If you live in the UK or the EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract for digital services. When you buy, you ask for the paid features to start straight away, so this right may be lost or reduced once they have started, as the law allows. This does not affect your rights in section 5.9 if the service is faulty.
5.8 Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Apple will tell you in advance, and where the law or Apple's rules require it, ask for your agreement before a higher price applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new price starts.
5.9 If Boop is faulty. Consumer laws in many countries give you rights if digital content or services are faulty. For example, in the UK the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires the service to be provided with reasonable care and skill, and the app to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described; in the EU, the Digital Content Directive gives similar rights; in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law gives consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. If Boop is faulty, contact us and we will try to fix it. If we cannot, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement or some or all of your money back, depending on the law where you live. A local consumer advice service (such as Citizens Advice in the UK) can tell you more.
5.10 When a subscription ends. We do not delete anything when a paid plan ends. Pets, events, documents and members above the Free limits become read-only until you subscribe again or reduce them to within the Free limits.
6. Your content
6.1 "Your content" means everything you or your household add to Boop: pet profiles, photos, documents, events, check-ins, notes and expenses.
6.2 You own your content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run Boop for you and your household (for example, to sync it across devices, show it to your household members, send reminders and create PDFs and exports you ask for). This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups, which are deleted on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
6.3 You confirm that you have the right to add your content, and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
6.4 Keep your own copies of important documents. We work hard to keep your content safe, but Boop is not an archive. Keep originals of important records such as vaccination certificates, pet passports and insurance documents.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Boop for anything unlawful, or to upload unlawful, harmful, offensive or infringing content;
- try to access another person's account or household, or data you are not entitled to;
- upload viruses or harmful code, or try to probe, disrupt, overload or get around the security of Boop or its servers;
- copy, reverse engineer or decompile the app, except where the law allows it;
- use automated tools to access Boop, or resell or commercially exploit it, without our written permission; or
- harass or abuse members of your household through the service.
8. Our intellectual property
Boop, its design, software, text, graphics and the Boop name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Boop for your own non-commercial use, and no other rights.
9. Availability, changes to Boop and offline use
9.1 We aim to keep Boop available and working well, but we cannot promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control.
9.2 Boop works offline and syncs when you are back online. If two people change the same item while offline, the most recent change may replace the other.
9.3 We may update and improve Boop, and change, add or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel your subscription. If we stop providing Boop altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice where we can, so you can export your data.
10. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Boop without owing you anything.
11. Ending your account
11.1 You can stop using Boop and delete your account at any time in Account › Data and privacy › Delete account. Remember to cancel any subscription with Apple too (section 5.5).
11.2 We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect other users or the service. Unless the law or security prevents it, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put things right and to export your data. If we close your account without good reason, you may be entitled to a refund for the unused part of your subscription.
11.3 Sections 6.4, 8, 12 and 14 continue to apply after your account ends.
12. Our responsibility to you
12.1 We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you agreed to these terms.
12.2 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your statutory consumer rights (such as those under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU consumer law or the Australian Consumer Law), or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law where you live.
12.3 Boop is for personal use. We are not responsible for business losses, such as loss of profit or business opportunity.
12.4 Because Boop is an organising tool and not veterinary advice (section 2), we are not responsible for decisions about your pet's care, treatment or medication, or for missed or delayed reminders, except where caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
12.5 We are not responsible for content added by you or by other members of your household, or for how people you share records with use them.
12.6 If you live outside the UK and the EU, and to the extent the law where you live allows: Boop is provided "as is" and "as available", and we do not make any promises about it beyond those set out in these terms. Some countries and US states do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited, so some of this section may not apply to you.
12.7 Subject to section 12.2, our total responsibility to you for all claims relating to Boop is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim and £50.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect changes to Boop or the law. We will update the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before the change takes effect.
14. Other important terms
14.1 Complaints. If you have a problem, please contact us at mekhakghapantsyan@gmail.com first. We will try to resolve it quickly and fairly.
14.2 Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold. We will tell you, and your rights will not be reduced. You may not transfer your rights without our written agreement.
14.3 Third-party rights. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as set out in section 15. Otherwise, nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce them.
14.4 Severability. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
14.5 No waiver. If we delay enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later.
14.6 Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in another country (including Scotland or Northern Ireland, an EU country or anywhere else), you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts where that law allows.
14.7 EU online dispute resolution. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed in July 2025. If you live in the EU, you can contact your national consumer authority or the European Consumer Centre in your country for help with a complaint.
14.8 Language. These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and it differs from the English version, the English version applies unless the law where you live says otherwise.
15. Terms required by Apple
15.1 These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Boop and its content.
15.2 Your licence to use the app is limited to using it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Household members may access the service through their own accounts as described in section 4.
15.3 Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
15.4 If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to meet a warranty are our responsibility, subject to these terms.
15.5 We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims by you or anyone else relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
15.6 If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
15.7 You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a UK, EU or US government embargo, or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any UK, EU or US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
15.8 Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to us at mekhakghapantsyan@gmail.com.
15.9 You must comply with any applicable third-party terms (such as your mobile network's terms) when using the app.
15.10 Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and will be treated as having accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
